Sketchborn privacy policy
Last updated
This policy covers the game Sketchborn. It is published by Jonathyn Major, doing business as Arbitrary Softworks.
The short version
Sketchborn does not collect, send or share personal data. It does not talk to the internet.
What stays on your computer
Your saves stay on your computer. They are six save slots, plus a little information about each one and a small picture of your monster, kept in the game’s data folder. The only personal thing they can hold is the name you type for a monster. The save files hold only your game. They do not store your username, hardware IDs or system details.
Deleting the game’s data folder removes your saves.
The game engine may also write its own log files to that folder. That is how the engine works, and those files stay on your computer too.
What the game does not use
- No microphone or camera. The voices you hear are pre-recorded clips that ship with the game.
- No analytics and no crash reporting.
- No network connection of any kind.
Other services
Buying the game is handled by Steam, under Steam’s privacy policy. The Sketchborn Discord is a separate service, under Discord’s privacy policy.
Changes
Sketchborn does not have Steam features such as achievements or cloud saves, sharing of your creations, or online play. This policy will be updated before any of these arrive. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
